In an upcoming lesson, we will be exploring rhyming words. There will be an interactive PowerPoint activity for you and your child to work on together. In this lesson, I will be listing a few children's books whose format refers to rhyming. I thought I would give you a head's up and if you want to go ahead and read some of these books with your child to familarize them that would be a great benefit!

Learning in Everyday Activities...
Everyday, all around us, there are lessons to be learned. As parents you can help your child learn using everyday activities.
*If you have spare change lying around, practice counting or adding and subtracting.
*Use the clock on the wall to practice telling time. You could draw a clock on paper without the hands and have your child practice drawing different times. "We eat dinner at 5:30, can you show this time on your clock for me?"
*As you drive down the freeway you can talk about the different colors of cars and trucks you see.
All the while your child is learning, but in a fun way they would never expect! Please feel free to leave other suggestions in the comment box so we can share all the fun ways to learn in everyday life!:)

Classroom Pet!!!
It's here! The new class pet! This is our goldfish named...wait...it doesn't have a name. This is where I need your help students and parents! We will be having the students decide on a few names, once it has been narrowed down to our Top 5 we will have an online and in class vote.
Class pet rules:
1. Don't stick your hands or any objects inside the fish tank.
2. Remember to feed the goldfish if it is your assigned day.
3. It probably doesn't like the tank to be pecked on by your fingers.
4. Be thinking of ideas for the name; we will choose the Top 5 t
